Our premium kindling is perfect for starting any kind of wood burning fire, whether you’re firing up the grill for a summer BBQ or stocking your fireplace for a long winter night. Larger than tinder and smaller than the fuel, kindling acts as the “middleman” of the fire, transferring the flames from the fire starter to the larger logs. While by no means necessary for starting a fire, kindling helps ignite the larger fuel source and can be fed to the flames to keep your fire burning slow and strong. At Paul’s Fireplace Wood, we offer two forms of kindling—kiln-dried and natural dried—both cut and thoroughly dried to maximize their effectiveness.
Our natural kindling are thin-split pieces of hardwood logs, like oak, maple, and birch, a by-product of Paul’s own cut and split firewood. The kindling strips are allowed to air dry naturally—without the assistance of a kiln—ensuring a combustible kindling with that classic woodsy aura.
Paul’s naturally dried kindling comes to you in varying widths and lengths, up to 16 inches long. One box contains enough to start 8-12 fires.
Like our other products, all of our natural kindling is responsibly harvested from DNR-approved firewood and certified by Canada Department of Agriculture to ensure a clean burn.
